The Challenge

Scaling the production of Photonic Integrated Circuits (PICs) requires advanced methods to integrate diverse photonic components and optimize supply chain processes. The photonics industry faces challenges in adapting existing technologies to meet the demands of industrial-scale production while maintaining high performance and scalability.

Objective

The FLEXIT project aims to revolutionize the photonics industry by developing a production line for integrated photonic components. This initiative focuses on creating a scalable, high-performance supply chain that integrates Silicon Nitride (SiN) and Indium Phosphide (InP) components using the FLEXIT-method. The project’s goal is to enable mass production of photonic chips while optimizing the entire digital production chain.

 

The strategy

The FLEXIT project combines innovative techniques and software development to establish a robust supply chain for PICs. Through process optimization, tool development, and rigorous testing, FLEXIT ensures that its methods and standards set a benchmark for industrial-scale photonic integration.
